    Black American Woman

    To be black and American I am an unclaimed National Historic Landmark The world famous Black woman Of the United States of America No other nation place or station makes claim to me I came to be through the birth canal Of the mysteries of iniquities And landed on the shores of her history I bear the name of my great great grands Owner of the land And the people Black history didn’t start with slavery But, I am America’s baby A descendent of her affair with slavery The reminder of a consummation between a people & a nation trapped in subordination Hatred… Simply Because we’re resistant to the mutation…
