Black American Woman

To be black and American

I am an unclaimed

National Historic Landmark

The world famous Black woman

Of the United States of America

No other nation place or station

makes claim to me

I came to be through the birth canal

Of the mysteries of iniquities

And landed on the shores of her history

I bear the name of my great great grands

Owner of the land

And the people

Black history didn’t start with slavery

But, I am America’s baby

A descendent of her affair with slavery

The reminder of a consummation

between a people & a nation

trapped in subordination

Hatred… Simply

Because we’re resistant to the mutation

That suppresses melanation

I’m the world famous black woman

Land Marked

Black
